Code of Conduct
A good learning environment is built by everyone in it.
Our Code of Conduct sets a simple expectation for students, parents, teachers and academy staff: treat one another with respect and protect the purpose of the learning space.
Respectful communication
Students, parents, teachers and staff should communicate politely and professionally. Disagreement can happen, but insulting, threatening, discriminatory, humiliating or intentionally disruptive behavior is not acceptable.
Appropriate online behavior
Online lessons should remain focused on learning. Participants should use appropriate language, clothing, backgrounds and communication. Recording, sharing or distributing another person's lesson, image, voice or private information without appropriate permission is not acceptable.
Respect for teachers and students
Teachers should correct learners respectfully, and learners should have the confidence to ask questions without fear of ridicule. Parents should raise concerns through appropriate academy communication rather than disrupting a child's lesson.
Academic honesty
Students should make a genuine effort to complete their own learning activities. Teachers may provide support and correction, but progress should represent the learner's own developing ability.
Safety comes first
Any behavior that raises a safeguarding concern, threatens another person or creates an unsafe learning environment may require immediate action by the academy. Protecting children and learners takes priority over continuing a lesson as normal.
Working through problems
Where a concern can be resolved constructively, we prefer clear communication and a fair opportunity to correct behavior. Serious or repeated breaches may result in changes to learning arrangements or discontinuation of services where necessary.
