Parent Guidelines
A good lesson works better when home and teacher work together.
Parents do not need to become teachers at home. What children need most is a calm routine, encouragement and enough support to arrive at each lesson ready to learn.
Create a calm place to learn
Choose a quiet, comfortable space where your child can hear the teacher clearly and participate without constant interruptions. A simple routine — the same device, the same place and a few minutes to settle before class — can make online learning feel much easier.
Support without taking over
It is helpful to be nearby when a younger child needs technical or practical support, but allow the learner to answer the teacher independently. A child develops confidence when they have space to think, try, make mistakes and receive correction directly from the teacher.
Keep practice realistic
Short, regular practice is usually more useful than a long session once in a while. Ask the teacher what the current priority is and focus on that. For Quran, this may be a few lines of reading. For Arabic, a small group of words. For Islamic Studies, it may be one idea the child can explain in their own words.
Encourage progress, not perfection
Children notice how adults react to mistakes. Praise specific progress — clearer pronunciation, better focus, remembering a dua or reading a word without help. Learning Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies is a journey, and confidence grows when improvement is noticed.
Tell us when something changes
If your child is struggling, losing confidence, finding the level too easy or too difficult, or experiencing a scheduling problem, speak to us. Good teaching depends on understanding the learner as they are now, not as they were when they first enrolled.
Respect the learning relationship
Please communicate respectfully with teachers and academy staff and help children do the same. Questions and concerns are welcome. Clear, calm communication gives us the best opportunity to support the learner and resolve problems constructively.
Ask us directly.
Policies are easier to understand when you can ask about your actual situation. If something on this page is not clear, contact Rouh & Rihan Academy.
