Progress should be clear enough to explain
Finishing lessons is not the same as improving. Families should be able to understand what has become stronger, what still needs practice and what the teacher is working toward next.
We look for evidence, not just activity
In Quran reading, progress may mean fewer repeated mistakes and more stable pronunciation. In Arabic, it may mean reading longer words with less hesitation or using new vocabulary without prompting. In Islamic Studies, it may mean explaining an idea clearly and connecting it to daily life.
These signs are more useful than simply counting completed pages. They show whether a skill is becoming dependable enough to carry into the next stage.
The goal is specific
A clear target gives both teacher and learner something concrete to work toward.
Feedback points to the next step
Good feedback names what improved and what still needs attention instead of relying on generic praise.
The plan can change
If a skill is not settling, the pace or type of practice should be adjusted before moving on.
Progress feels calmer when it is visible
Learners are more likely to stay motivated when improvement is specific enough to notice. Families also gain a clearer picture of where lesson time is going.
